Showtime introduced its first season of Weeds in August, 2005. The comedy-drama series starring Mary-Louise Parker as an upper-class marijuana dealing mom has been a hit. People who started to watch Weeds during the first season have been hooked, no wonder being that it was the highest rated series for Showtime in its first year. The most recent season, season 5, premiered with 1.2 million viewers, with a rerun on the same night adding another 500,000 viewers for a total of 1.7 million. Weeds Season 5 ended with a cliffhanger the size of Everest itself which will be sure to attract viewers to watch Weeds season 6, due for release in 2010.
